Creative Ways to Use Coffee-Infused Maple Syrup

Coffee-infused maple syrup can definitely add a little something special to your morning pancakes or French toast. However, drizzling this syrup over common breakfast items is not the only way to enjoy it. Here are some other more creative ways to use your coffee-infused maple syrup.

Make Coffee Syrup Milk

Milk flavored with coffee-infused maple syrup is surprisingly good. It's a little sweet, but it has a hint of coffee flavor and really tastes like a latte. You can enjoy this concoction cold. Start by stirring one tablespoon of the coffee-infused maple syrup into a cup of milk. If the flavor is not strong enough for you, add another teaspoon. Keep going a teaspoon at a time until you find your perfect flavor concentration; everyone has a different preference. If you're in the mood for a warm beverage instead, then simply heat your coffee syrup milk in the microwave until warm.

Top Your Ice Cream

Coffee-infused maple syrup is also a delicious topping for ice cream. It's especially good on vanilla. Drizzle it over your ice cream, and toss some pecans or walnuts on top for some crunch. You can also try this on coffee-flavored ice cream. It adds more sweetness and an extra hit of coffee for those serious coffee lovers.

Make a Poke Cake

Poke cakes are fun to make and are loaded with flavor. Start by making an ordinary box cake in a 9 x 13" pan. Yellow cake is your best bet, but you can make white or chocolate if desired. When the cake is still warm and in the pan, poke lots of holes in the top, using a chopstick. Then, pour your coffee-infused maple syrup over the top of the cake. You can use a lot or a little, depending on how rich you want the cake to be. Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting it. Then, serve and enjoy, perhaps with a side of ice cream.

Make Frosting

If you make your own homemade frosting, try adding some coffee-infused maple syrup to it. This will add an extra layer of complexity and flavor. Start with just a tablespoon, and see how you like it. You can whip in additional syrup, one tablespoon at a time until you get the flavor you desire.

Coffee-infused maple syrup can be used and enjoyed in so many ways. Give the ideas above a try, and you'll really grow to love this syrup. For more information, turn to a company such as Summit Maple Farm.

About Me

Improving My Restaurant

When I inherited the family restaurant, I knew that I had to make a few changes. Our customer count was dwindling, and the dining area needed an update in a bad way. I knew that a few simple changes could make a big difference, so I dug in and got started. The first thing I worked on was improving the menu. Instead of buying fish and produce from the same old places, I took a hard look at our specialty food dealers and selected better businesses. That single change improved our food quality, which gave our customers something great to talk about. Check out this blog for ideas on how to improve your restaurant.
